NETBALL ICON INDUCTED INTO SPORTS HALL OF FAME

A memorable moment of history was brought when the sensational netball icon and legendary, Kgololesego ‘Freedom’ Diraditsile was inducted into the Botswana Sport Hall of Fame by Honorable Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Honourable Tumiso Rakgare on the 10th November 2021 at the National Stadium.

Ms Diraditsile has been such an inspiration in netball circles and a true legend of the game. During her prime she was an unbelievable shooter of note for both BDF Cats Netball Club and the Senior National Team.
After retiring in 2012, she ventured into officiating the game of netball as both a Match Official (Umpire) and Technical Official. She had the opportunity to officiate a world class event as a Technical Official during the 2017 Netball World Youth Cup held in Gaborone, Botswana. During the 2017 NWYC she had a rare opportunity officiating the final between Australia and New Zealand as scorer 1.

Ms Diraditsile has been successful in going through the ranks of umpiring and now she is an accredited Africa C Netball Tutor after being accredited by World Netball in 2018 in Lusaka, Zambia during the Africa Netball Cup and Africa Netball World Cup Qualifiers.

BONA President, the National Executive Committee and the entire netball family applaud and congratulate Ms Diraditsile for such a huge honor of being inducted into Botswana Sports Hall of Fame. You have been such a true ambassador of the game of netball. Your legacy shall forever remain with netball.
